During the summer of 1996, wrestling fans around the world
had just one question- who was the third member of the
Outsiders. At World
Championship Wrestling’s (WCW) Bash at the Beach PPV, fans
learned the identity of the mystery man, a revelation which changed
the course of wrestling forever and nearly put the WWF out of
business. That night,
Hulk Hogan turned his back on his fans,
joining Scott Hall and Kevin Nash as a member of a group that would
soon become known as the New World Order. The night that Hogan turned
heel is one of the great moments in wrestling history.

hyped as the match between three of WCW's best and the
Outsiders. |
Throughout the show, everyone wondered,
who was the Outsiders' third man? |
Michael Buffer introduces the participants
to the match nicknamed "The Hostile
Takeover". |

Enter the Outsiders. But
where's the third man? |

Luger is stretchered

Leaving Sting and Savage to
face the Outsiders. |

Outsiders take control of the match! |
That is, until Sting tags in
Savage. |
The Macho Man
cleans house! |

Hall is tossed out of the
ring! |
Oh yeah!!!! |
Oh no! A low blow lays out
Savage! |
|
Just when things look bleak
for WCW, Hulk Hogan comes out for the save! |
Unfortunately he's saving the
Outsiders! |
Hogan delivers another
legdrop to Savage! |

The Outsiders congratulate the third
man. |
The fans are in shock.
One fan even tries to get in the ring! |
Mean Gene interviews the
Hulkster |
|
Hogan tells Okerlund that
this is the New World Order of wrestling. |
And that as far as he's
concerned, the fans can go "stick it." |
As the NWO celebrate in the
ring, WCW announcer Tony Schiavone tells Hogan to "go to
hell." |
