| David
Crockett is the brother of wrestling promoter Jim Crockett Jr.
(and son of legendary promoter Jim Crockett Sr.).
Crockett served as one of the announcers in Mid-Atlantic
Championship Wrestling (later renamed World Championship
Wrestling). He is legendary for his rooting for
babyfaces during announcing and was involved in an angle when
wrestling heel Nikita Koloff clotheslined him during an
interview. At the time, it was rare for wrestlers to
attack announcers. Crockett would go on to be special
referee for a match between Ric Flair and Nikita Koloff.
