Tony Schiavone interviews Bob Orton Jr. (right) and Dick Slater (left) about NWA World Heavyweight Champion Harley Race's upcoming title defense against "Nature Boy" Ric Flair.  Orton and Slater had been paid $25,000 by Race for what was thought to be a career-ending injury.

However Flair (right) came back with the help of his good friends Jay Youngblood, Ricky Steamboat, and Wahoo McDaniel.

The fans in Greensboro, North Carolina witness a spectacular entrance for hometown hero Ric Flair, challenging Race for the coveted ten pounds of gold.

Flair is challenging Race to win the NWA World Heavyweight Championship for the second time in his career.

The champion is introduced.  Race has expressed his contempt with the NWA Board of Directors' decision to make him defend the belt in what he calls a fence (steel cage).

Special referee Gene Kiniski (a former NWA World Champion himself)  checks Ric Flair for foreign objects.  Kiniski has been brought in to guarantee a fair match.

Kiniski lays down the low before the match begins.  He wants a clean match.

When the champion does not give Ric Flair a clean break, Kiniski admonishes him.  Although this is a cage match, Kiniski is treating it as a normal wrestling match.

Race works over Flair's neck with a piledriver.  There is some question as to whether or not Flair's neck has healed completely from the attack he sustained at the hands of Orton and Slater.

An overhead camera catches the action as Race bodyslams Flair to the mat.

Flair delivers a beautiful vertical suplex to Race.  Flair holds Race up in the air, allowing the blood to rush to his head.

Flair fights back and drops a devastating elbow to the champion.  Flair is giving as much as he is getting.

With referee Kiniski stunned, Flair climbs the top rope.

Flair crashes into the champion with a high cross bodyblock.  This is proof that Flair has  successfully hit this move in his career.

Kiniski counts Race down with a 1-2-3!!!

Flair's friends gather to congratulate him on his hard fought victory.  The referee shakes Flair's hand and congratulates him on his victory.

This is the beginning of Flair's second reign as NWA World Heavyweight Champion.  Just the beginning of a fantastic run as NWA Champion.

Flair thanks his friends for helping him train for the match and thanks the fans for their support.
